I wish Keyes would run!!!

Alan Keyes came to my church today, and he was one of the best speakers i've ever heard. He represents what America really is, and what we are built on.

In this video Keyes fights to be heard even though he is being stifled by the media in the debate.

More tolerant or just lazy?

Gen Y's attitudes differ from parents'
By Sharon Jayson, USA TODAY
The views of young people today on politics, social attitudes and life goals are far different from their baby boomer parents', a national survey of 18- to 25-year-olds suggests.
More than two-thirds (67%) believe immigrants strengthen American society; a quarter favor increasing legal immigration.
Just 47% of those ages 41 to 60 say immigrants strengthen society; among those 26 and older, 16% say immigration should increase.
While young people are split over gay marriage (47% in favor, 46% opposed), those over 25 are not: 64% oppose same-sex marriage; 30% favor it.

Are we really more tolerant or just lazy and apathetic?

Sailor comes home

Great video of a sailor coming home and suprising his young son at school.

What shocked me was I actually had to fight with someone about this father not being a cold blooded killer. How did my generation become like this. Touching video though.

Why I won't vote for Hilary Clinton

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YPUo7Cj084&feature=related

I consider myself a moderate, but Hilary is a socialist. I am an American I do not like socialism, and this is not what my teachers taught me it is what I know from studying the issue.

British teacher jailed for naming a Teddy Bear in the middle east

KHARTOUM, Sudan - A British teacher jailed for insulting Islam after allowing her students to name a teddy bear Muhammad was released Monday when Sudan's president pardoned her, a British Embassy spokesman said.

The conviction of Gillian Gibbons under Sudan's Islamic Sharia law shocked Britons and many Muslims worldwide. It also inflamed passions among many Sudanese, some of whom called for her execution.
Gibbons escaped harsher punishment that could have included up to 40 lashes, six months in prison and a fine.
In a written statement given to President Omar al-Bashir and read by a British mediator, Gibbons said she did not intend to offend anyone and had great respect for Islam.
I could not believe this when I read it. I am a future teacher, and it takes a lot of dedication to teach in foreign places. I am suprised the British did not threaten physical force, if it had been America you know we would have. In this case that would not have been a bad thing.
